This piezoelectrical crystal has the same crystal structure as quartz (quartz-isomorph) and is a member of the so-called "Langasite family". CTGS shows very interesting features which are especially suited for piezoelectric sensors operating at higher temperatures. Since many years AXTAL is offering special piezoelectric crystal materials like Langasite (LGT) and Langatate (LGT), which are complementing quartz especially for high temperature sensor applications.
The nw piezoelectrical crystal CTGS (Ca3TaGa3Si2O14) has the same crystal structure as quartz (quartz-isomorph) and is a member of the so-called "Langasite family". CTGS shows very interesting features which are especially suited for piezoelectric sensors operating at higher temperatures.
Compared to Langatate (LGT) the isolation resistivity is two orders of magnitude higher, which makes CTGS superior for pressure sensors based on the static piezielectric effect.
